my story

My aim as an artist is to help other’s feel the same sense of wonder and awe at the natural world as I do. If my work inspires you to pause and take a closer look at nature then I have done my job!

As a child I was usually either wandering through the forest around our home or diving into our overflowing art drawer, drawing and coloring to my heart's content. Since then I have felt called to express the love and wonder I feel whenever I step outside.

When an historic wildfire swept through my mountain community I turned to my art to soothe my anxiety and fear. This marked a turning point in my creative journey. So I created a piece of artwork that I could sell to help raise money. Even though I knew it was a small act it unlocked something big inside of me…this feeling that one of my gifts could act as part of the solution, however small, to the crises I witnessed around me.

A few years ago I was accepted to do a short artist residency on a mountaintop, which was followed by a public reception. Being given the chance to do a deep dive into my work, as well as share it with the public inspired me in a big way. I began selling my art in local shops and teaching watercolor classes in my hometown.

Today I can be found exploring in my tiny studio space and finding new ways to help express my love and reverence of nature in a visual way, as well as scheming up new ideas to help others slow down and connect with the rhythms of nature.
